Tuning 60 lbs. Not just another asking how to.

Ive got a 2005 Buick Lacrosse and hp tuners. Its got pretty much the same bin as a 2005 GP. All the charts match up anf there are not extra tables I dont have. So ive already gone through the forums. Found some stuff about how to do the quick and dirty tune for injectors. Just change your flow rate (mines in g/s I believe right now). Then adjust your maf to compensate and adjust fuel trims. Bam done. But I also read your mpg calcs and that stuff will be messed up. Since id like to keep my MPG function accurate and the oil change/ oil life % whats the best way to go about this? Ive already got my new flow rate for the injectors. Used one of them excel spreadsheets. It gives you the injector pulse width requires at 14 volts. I just made that follow the same curve as stock as a base line. I believe itll be close enough. My stock file did not have any of the injector offset data filled out in the tune. It was zereod across the board. Ive got a top swap tune to pull off of for injectpr offsets. But am unsure if I will need them. Ive also got a file from a 2002 grand prix with 60lbs to pull off. But it looks like they did the quick and dirty way of injector tuning.

you can do it two ways. continue to adjust the IFR curve and retune the MAFF table as needed to make the DIC accurate -or-
use the MPG scaling factor table available in Tiny Tuner to adjust the DIC MPG accuracy.

Do you need to buy something for tiny tuner? Or is it some kind of freeware tuning software

DIC is a round about close proximity approximate to actual anyway... Pen & Paper is always more accurate, lol

for the record, I wouldn't bother tuning for DIC accuracy, I'd spend my time tuning for power!

good luck though : )

I want power but want to retain the oem features in the car. Whats a Buick without its "premium" features. Its like having the HUD and it showing you going 60 when your doing 40.

You need to get dhp and download tinytuner to adjust your dic. However, I don't think it's mapped on those cars. Most likely you are sol.

So I have the injectors in. Its running super lean right now and was pretty rough at idle. I adjusted the injector offsets and now it seems to idle okay but the fuel trims are all weird. They are at +16 in most spots. As opposed to The +25 They where at before. I tweaked the offsets again and it went super lean again. Maybe that's because I forgot to reset the fuel trims... but even still its in drivable. Of you give it any amount of gas to accelerate it means out and stalls. Kinda of lost as to what to do...

check for vac leaks, a o ring on an injector may have torn on you.

if you dont find a vac leak, try adding more to the injectors

No vacumn leaks, all brand new o rings. It seems to run fine in closed loop. Its when it goes to open loop

Figured out the problem. So after taking the supercharger and all that. I changed out the new map sensor I bought with the stock on for my car. My map pressures went back to normal and the car runs fine
