Tuner can't read '04 Impala PCM

Alright my buddy has an '04 9C1 Police Impala that I'm trying to tune for him but my tuner can't seem to pull up his bin file. Do police Impala's have different PCM's or what?

Also would a PCM from an '03 (or older) Impala work and be readable by my tuner? I ask cause his car needs a new BCM and I figured his best route would be to yank both the PCM and BCM out of a car at a junkyard around here, but I didn't know if they would be compatible in an '04 Impala. The motor is a Series II 3.8.
 


our patrol package imps had a different pcm that was not able to be tapped into and tweaked. this was to ensure that when something happened you could read exactly what the car was doing when that happened.
 
I've only found one dhp that could read my 04 comp g. It was the one that was owned by Mike Lewis of PFYC. No one else has been able to read it. I have hptuners now
 
I've got a DHP powrtuner with 2.8 firmware.

Ya I was thinking that the 9C1 Impala PCM's were prolly different. So would an older 3.8L Impala PCM/BCM combo work in the car and work with my tuner?
