tune?

ok so a am about to start modding a 2000 gtp and here are the mods i plan on doing FWI, ssca headers, 104 autolites, 180* T-stat, ported TB, ported SC inlet and outlet, 1.9 rockers and an aeroforce scan guage. so my questions are should a vendor pcm be a good choice of so which one? i have had so many ppl tell me different things. OR should i go a custom tune? also at what point in the modding process should i get a pcm/tune?

if mail order, go DHP or Intense or overkill (in that order)

or a custom tune would probably be the best bet from an experienced tuner, ive heard nothing but good things about reptile's tunes

buy hptuners and do the tuning yourself. unless you have someone local that can do the same then the tune on your car will never be spot on.

the hp tuners seems a little too complicated for me to do myself. and for the DHP in order to enable the performance shift mode i have to run the switch from the pcm as shown in the "how to section" since my car is a 2001? and the higher shift points and transmission line pressure increase will only be active when the performance shift mode is on? i dont wana break anything hahaha

You don't have a performance shift button on your shifter, mine does and it's 2000?

nope sorry i meant to say 2001 hahaha my bad i guess i have been saying 2000 for all my postings in the last 2 days i have been a member. my old car was a 2000 buick lesabre

You on mnclubgp.com yet? There are a few knowledgeable tuners up there. You don't need a perf. shift button at all really. Most of the time i just increase the line pressures, change the shift points at WOT and change the shift times to .01s or so. It won't really affect daily driving much unless you want more changes, but you will always feel it when you get on the throttle.
