Trunk lift supports--design 1 or 2??

I'm trying to buy new trunk lift supports for my 99 GTP and I noticed that there's 2 options, one for 1st design and one for 2nd design. Which is correct for a 99? Are they interchangeable?

Not sure if they are interchangeable. The open length, compressed length, stroke, body diameter and force are all different. You best bet is to take one of yours off and match the specs.

FWIW, I ordered the 2nd design for my '00 GTP w/ spoiler.

It looks like 1st design are 97-99 and 2nd are 00-03, but I saw some posts where some guys said their 99's were 2nd design.

Yeah, who knows...? Rockauto lists 1st and 2nd as an option for my '00. I just matched what I had. They happened to be the 2nd design.

I put a 99 decklid on my 2000 GTP when I owned it to do paint peel and the 99 had different brackets for them. Though it didnt come with the brackets, all the marks were still there.
