Truck MAF on L32?

I have a bone stock 04 GTP amd i am starting to mod it, I have a MAF and pigtail off a 05 5.3 Silverado laying around and i was wondering if anyone has ever done this swap. I searched and wasnt able to find my answer. If i need a tune thats fine my friend is going to tune it for me when the weather clears up. The reason for the maf swap is its bigger and i think id benefit more from a 4" CAI.

No real point to do that and I'm pretty sure it wouldnt work.

I doubt you are out flowing the size piping you have on your intake. The stock MAF is going to give the car the best readings anyway.

the MAF zzp sell with their n* kit is the same MAF as what on my 04 5.3 silverado, and yes ive swapped them trying to troubleshoot the GTP before

Unless you're maxing out your factory MAF and/or know how to tune, you're not going to notice any significance or benefit to which you may be expecting

My friend has a speed shop and he tunes cars and trucks and has tuned a lot of fast gtps. Im gonna take my car to him to get tuned this weekend (just waiting for the weather to pass) and then ill start modding it; headers, cai, water/meth, pulley and maybe a cam(mods in that order). The car dosnt have a catalytic converter as I bought it that way. I did a 160* tstat and ngk tr55 plugs, decarbonized the cylinders and cleaned the injectors.

The things you said in your noob post don't add up to the questions you're asking.

Where should i start off, Im not new to the racing scene or fast car scene but im kind of new to the grand prix scene. As a GM tech and Speed Shop owner Ive had my share of cars and trucks and ive worked on a couple grand prixs. I put one in the 13's on street tires with bolt ons. I just bought a 2004 Grand Prix GTP and from what i can tell its fully loaded. Black with ebony leather interior. Im looking for a low 13 second pass or even a high 12 second pass. This will be my daily driver and i dont want to put heads, cam or stall converter.

Thanks for the help guys. I think im ordering some ssac headers, a water/meth kit, some rockers, a pulley and ill port the blower myself. Thanks hvacgtp I learned some good info from that thread. Its just a littlw shop in south texas called trackstar motorsports. I usually build gm trucks, corvettes, mustangs and camaros. I got a deal on this gtp and I love the way they drive so I jumped on it.

As a "GM tech", and "speed shop owner" you should know that the 04+ Grand Prix will have issues on a 160* thermostat. Not only that, but its mentioned on ZZP and I believe also on WBS. You should also know that the TR55 is only for naturally aspirted engines or "near stock GTPs" according to ZZP, because boost requires a colder plug. I'm not going to fix your proposed mod list for you, but you may want to do some reading before you start trying to make yourself "sound cool" online.

Im not trying to sound cool by any means. I did read the thread and ive only modded one gtp and the owner brought me everything. As a gm tech I dont use aftermarket pats at work and I dont usually get cars that arr older than 07's and if I do its a cadillac. Im not upping th boost yet and when I do ill go with tr6 plugs.
