transmission

I have a 2000grand prix gtp supercharged. I had the selenoid replaced and am now told i need to replace or rebuild the transmission. supposedly, there is a code on the transmission that will tell me which one I need. does anyone know where i find the code?

For a 2000 GTP,
Its on the SPID sticker on the under side of the trunk lid, should have "MN7".
Also, would like to add this that I found:

About 1/4 way down the page it show the location of the ID tag on the
transmission.
