Transmission wont reach fourth gear?

1997 Grand Prix GTP 3.8 Supercharged

Hi guys
THe other day driving on the highway, suddenly I wasnt able to reach fourth gear. I can drive around somewhat normally, but I top at out 35 MPH and the transmission begins to squeal from pushing it too much, I think. Reverse works fine.

My question is, obviously, what could be the issue? Also, I'm wondering if the fact that I have a faulty MAF sensor has anything to do with it? I read somewhere that a bad MAF can cause shifting problems, and i've had a bad one for a while with the check engine light on, with the code saying it has a low volume.

If I start out in Drive, I'll sucessfully shift from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 is a little rough, and then it wont go any higher.
 
99% chance it is your 4th gear clutch hub in the transmission. The good news is you should be able to limp along without a 4th gear for a month or so. The bad news is a transmission overhaul or replacement is your only option.:th_peaceout:
