Transmission slipping?

What's up guys? Alright well I have a 2000 Grand Prix GT and it seems to be having transmission problems. Big surprise, right? Lol OK well the problem is that if I am sitting in park and put it in gear(Forward or reverse) It feels likes it having a little trouble finding the gear and then when it does its kicks. I mean this isnt a huge problem, its not a situation where i cant drive the thing. I would just like to diagnose the problem. I feel like the Transmission is slipping sometimes also, when i push the pedal all the way down it really takes a while to shift and when it does its a fairly rough shift. Could it be a CV axle? I do here faint clicking alot when I'm driving.

First things first. Check the transmission fluid level.

Make sure the car is warmed up, running, and in park on a level surface. Then pull the dipstick and check the fluid level. If it is low, then you need to add some fluid.

Also, you can check the fluid condition. It should be a reddish color. Anything other than that and you should consider a transmission fluid and filter change.

IIRC, check the fluid at a level surface as well as while the cars running at operating temps.
