Transmission Slip in low gears- Slip on stopping and acceleration

Hello- My transmission has been slipping only in low gears so basically when I stop the engine with surge for a second like it's in idle from normal idle range(a little under 1000 rpms) surge up tp 1500 and then slam down into gear. Same thing when accelerating. Could it be the transmission control Solenoid for gears 1 and 2 or could it be the main transmission control solenoid? The fluid and filter was just changed in an attempt to fix it. Any help would be great, thinking about getting all the Solenoids and changing them out since it's about $110 for all of them.

What car do you drive? And how many miles?

To me it sounds like you're not really describing a slipping problem, but a no forward problem. As if it's in neutral until it bangs into gear, meaning there's not much slipping going on. This is usually caused by worn out Input clutch piston. It's inner surface wears out and the seal no longer, well seals. The increase in RPM's increases fluid pressure or flow by a little, which is enough to finally engage it. Changing the fluid normally doesn't help at all, and sometimes makes it worse because new fluid may be a little thinner. Unfortunately the Input clutch piston is pretty far into the transmission, and at that point unless you're confident the rest of the trans is in good shape, and you can change it yourself to save money, you're going to need a rebuild. You could try replacing a quart of your fluid with Lucas transmission stop slip. It will definitely help, but I'm not sure if it will solve the issue.

Good to know. There has never been a time where the car just wouldn't move, the transmission was rebuilt before I got the car from my uncle. Mileage is 160,000 on the engine. It's a 95 Grand Prix GTP. Not sure what the deal is. Could it be a transmission control Solenoid for gears 1 and 2? I tried lucs transmission fix and it worked for only a day and then nothing. This problem is intermittent, not constant at all but it is like this most of the time.

The input clutch piston isn't a common thing to replace in a rebuild. It has to be inspected, and ordered separate if it is found to be worn, so it may be original. What do you mean transmission control solenoid? You probably mean shift solenoid for 1-2. I'm not sure if that can cause the problem you're having. Someone who knows more about 4t60e's would have to stop by.
