Transmission problem PO742 Check engine soon. now what?

It's weird, last night my cel came on and transmission shuttered in between shifts. Neither of these two things have ever happened before on this car. Today got code (PO742) in the morning from autozone, and forgot to have them reset the cel. Drove the car 3 more times today and the cel was on every time and the transmission has worked fine all day (no shutter) but just got back from a 10 min drive and the cel is gone. Did the car fix the issue and turn the cel off?
