Transmission dipstick tube disconnected.

So I was working on my 06 base grand prix, replacing the stupid air injection check valve. We'll I noticed the tube for my transmission dipstick was loose and flopping around. No clue how that happened, and I remembered about a month ago when refilling my transmission after a filter/fluid change I could hear almost a leaking air sound when filling. Anyways, shortly prior to doing the work it was leaking transmission fluid, so I figured this is probably the culprit. Anyways, my brother was over at the time and pulled on the tube. It came loose and a river of transmission fluid is now under my car. Nothing like this happening at almost midnight and having to be up early in the morning. How hard of a fix is this going to be? I did a search here and couldn't find any information or writeups about this, my apologies if I missed it. Thank you guys for your help, this forum is amazing.

Follow the tube down and push it back on. Just use whatever ATF you have if you gotta work. Drop the pan soon as you get a chance.

How many miles on are on the fluid? Could be time for a change anyways.

Edit: There might be a seal. RA lists a part for 04+. AC Delco 1259475

Thanks, I should probably order that seal. The fluid was just changed last month so it's brand new.

The tube is held in with a single bolt to the back of the transmission. I had my dipstick break when the welded bracket to the tube rusted and broke leaving a hole. Figure out if it is the bracket that rusted and separated or the grommet in the transmission that the tube goes into.

Thank you, I will check it out tonight. How easy is that bolt to get to?

I'm ordering a tube now online as nobody in town has any on hand, sounds like I may need to replace it anyway. I noticed ACDelco has two different part numbers that say it fits in the GP, 25611427 & 10369352. I wonder if they both will fit, I seem to think mine has the bend that resembles 10369352 more.

that bolt is a bit of a pita to get to. not sure what one is for your car, they do both look a bit different. both might work just fine.

I did a search for the part numbers you posted for 25611427
I got

For 10369352 I got

So pull your out and see which shape resembles more. I bought mine from the dealer for $25

Thank you. Yeah mine looked like the bottom one. I just ordered one online. Guessing the bracket is still on the transmission, there were just three holes where it used to be.
