Transmission Code and no 4th gear HELP

Ok so my check engine light came on I read the code and its P0756 shift solenoid “b” performance or stuck off and sometimes I dont get first gear its like my tranny is starting in 2nd or 3rd but even when it shifts fine I never get 4th gear. My tranny used to slip when the car got warm so I did a filter and fluid change with some lucas and it helped it doesnt slip at all but now this. I do have a regal gs parts car so if I can just change the shift solenoid then that would be awesome. I was also wondering if unplugging the pcm and pluggin it back in might help and if so (is the pcm in the airbox ?).

Can someone please help me figure this out ? I figured someone would know or have an idea whats wrong maybe tranny man or somethin..... I cant drive my car on the highway and im going nuts tryna figure it out
 
Yeah, no.

It's rebuild time. No band-aid will make things better. The solenoid probably isn't "bad", but full of crud. Like the rest of the trans is. I would guess the frictions were shot, which started the initial slipping. Lucasing it just stopped the slipping for a while, but didn't address the issue, and now all the shot clutch material is happily clogging the trans to death...like the solenoids... I just got done rebuilding mine, and it was a Complete PITA.
Have Dave at Triple ship you a new one.
 
I've found great info using Gearchatter.com and searching the codes. They have the FSM's online basically.

A soleniod isn't that bad to replace, but it does require dropping the cradle enough to get the side cover off.
 
yeah I dont think I have to change the tranny just yet because I heard I can replace the shift solenoid and it will be fine cause after the filter change and fluid change my tranny never slips not once shifts mint its just this solenoid thing right now. I get every gear except four which is why I dont get it and also sometimes it will start out in 2nd its kinda weird but shifts fine like doesnt slip... autozone sells a shift solenoid which is 28.99 I was wondering if anyone can help me locate it cause I have no idea where it is. If someone can give me a diagram or tell me where to look id really appreciate it. Because Im gonna change that first before I change my tranny... I also got fourth gear today it started working fine like shifting fourth but sometimes it wont. I was thinking when the tranny fluid gets really hot its works fine cause the lucas is too thick and clogging the solenoid so again if anyone knows where it is id appreciate some help thanks alot, Nick
