Transgo Shift Kit, 1st to 2nd Slower Then Stock? Help!

I installed the Transgo shift kit in my 1998 GT to try and help the hard shifts I was getting in every gear. It did help some, But it seems the 1st to 2nd is shifting slower then stock. I used Valvoline Maxlife ATF and im starting to think it's not working well with my old trans. Anyone have problems with this ATF?

It feels like it's slipping it the top of 1st now, And making the shift slow. The down shift from 2nd or 3rd to 1st is quicker then stock and does't slip, And so is the 3rd to 2nd down shift.

Before the kit the car would slip in the middle of 2nd when the trans got hot every once in awhile, And by hot I mean 220-233f after running an hour down the highway. I have a trans cooler ordered, Because I know that is not helping. The car has 87,000 on it, And it was never abused by my uncle who was the original owner.

I know the trans is going, But im just trying to save it till I have the money to get it rebuilt.

Not sure if it will help with the slipping, but maybe have it tuned to turn up the line pressure.

Iv'e been looking at getting PCM from Overkill or 3800performance. Still trying to make up my mind on who to get it from, But i'm leaning towards Overkill unless someone tells me it's not a good idea. Just seems they have put more time into tuning there PCM's, But I could be wrong. Im still very new with these cars.
 
I've heard positives and negatives from all of them. The only negative I hear about Will (overkill) is communication and the time it takes to get the PCM.
 


Make sure the trans is filled with trans fluid. Low fluid can cause slipping.

I wish it was that simple it's full, But I am about 1/2 of quart high. Is there any chance that can do it to? I put 8 quarts back in after the install.

Tomorrow im going to let that 1/2 quart out.
