Trans won't shift -- Disconnect battery and it's fixed?

Car has been sitting for a few weeks. Drove fine before being parked.

Reconnect battery, pull out of parking spot up a hill, and about 10 ft out of the spot, car won't move. No reverse, no 1st 2nd D. Push car back in to the spot.

Disconnect battery, reconnect, all is well...took car out for a drive, no issues.

Seems like some sort of electrical issue to me. Anything I should be checking?

That is something I have never experienced or had a customer complaint like that. That transmission will still move in 3rd gear with trans unplugged. Fluid level ok? That's just bizarre I'm curious to see if someone has had this happen or have a explanation.

unhooking the battery reset the pcm, this will make things work again till it trips what ever code / electronic issue again. should have scanned it for codes before shutting it off. might of have a pending code. keep a scanner handy should it act up again.

There were no active codes but I didn't think to look at scanner for pending.

Very odd. Hopefully doesn't happen again

With no power and unplugged. Like it was mentioned, you'd have 3rd.
While I have never heard this one before....part of me is thinking, what electronically could do that...

Maybe the pcs bled off too much pressure, hence no hydraulic pressure to engage the forward band. Resetting power either reset the pcm or unstuck the soleniod etc and did the trick. I'd chaulk it up to a single time technical difficulty if it doesn't seem to repeat itself
