Trans slipping when cold

Ive been having a problem over winter and this spring where my trans slips a little bit when its cold. It does it when i first start it up and drive but only if i go over like an eighth throttle. When it is warm it has no problem and works perfect, i have read that this could possibly be a clogged trans filter or some seals getting worn out and swelling when it finally gets warm to build up the line pressure. Just looking for some input from you guys to see if there is something i can easily do to fix it instead of buying a new trans

Being that you said it could be a clogged filter. My first suggestion is service the transmission with a filter and fluid pan drop service. Add a quart of lucas stop slip in when you do it and see if that doesn't sprinkle a little magic pixie dust on your trans.
