Trans slipping into neutral?

I think I'm starting to have some major issues with my 2000 GTP. Sometimes when starting from a stop, the car does what feels like a neutral drop into 1st gear. It almost feels like it forgot to downshift when decelerating. On occasion it will do a hard upshift while going into cruising. Now, it has been acting up during normal acceleration in 1st gear. Once in a while during acceleration from a stop if will start accelerating and then feels like it dropped into neutral. The RPMs will go up but the car won't move. Once you let off the gas and back down, it goes fine. I've got issues with the ABS/TCS light coming on when shifting from rev to drive but I don't think this is related. Any advice?? I was going to change the transmission filter this week and see if it improves. Thanks in advance.
 


ABS shouldn't be related.

Slipping coudl be fluid starvation, or an internal issue like the input clutch piston, problem with channel plate leaking etc.
 
Well, I changed the filter last night and I'm still having issues. It hasn't had the going into neutral problem but still having problems. The most consistent is that if you drive and get the car to drop into 3rd or OD and then quickly slow down to a stop or rolling stop and then accelerate, sometimes it starts to go and then does 1 or 2 shudders and then everything is fine. No problems with shifting to any other gears and most starts from a stop are fine. It seems almost as if it never downshifted when I slowed down, then panics and drops into 1st when I accelerate. Any other ideas??
