Trans bangs into gear

Hello guys
So after a while of driving and come to a stop my 05 grand prix base model slams or bangs into gear after a few seconds of what feels like no power. Ive been told it can be a bad torque converter or sensor, the forward apply piston seal to a shift soliniod.
I have put in the trans go shift kit in, changed the fliter and fuild as well as a bottle of lucas trans fix. It does seem to have helped but still does this and also happens from 1st to reverse but doesnt slam just shrudders a slight bit.

you know what time it is. baby it till you got the funds, or beat it like a red headed step child if you have new tranny funds on hands lol

Very common problem, the only way to truly fix it is an overhaul, unfortunately.

These guys know their stuff, and this info has helped me out quite a bit when I first started having issues. Mine's been doing that for years, still does it occasionally. I know I need to dig in there and do a proper overhaul, but it's still going, so I'll take it.

My advice is set up some form of fall-back plan and be prepared to get the trans fixed, but continue to drive it until it does break/becomes un-driveable. That's what I'm doing. There's quite a few options for a back-up plan, all depending on how mechanically inclined you are.
