Trannyman95/Triple Edge Performance!!

LowlyfeGTP

Another one for Dave (Trannyman95)!!

I would personally like to thank Dave for all that he has contributed to the GP community and his friends. I just got back from picking up my Triple Edge Performance Street/Strip transmission (3.29s, 7/8", input shaft, 1000+ hp rated/2 year warranty/no PCM mods/2750 torque converter, etc.) this last weekend. I thank him greatly for working with me on scheduling, build, info, and so on. I can't wait to get my GTP back together and enjoy it!!

I have witnessed the incredible amount of knowledge that this guy has through posts in years past, conversation, and builds. I actually got the chance to meet Dave at BGPM07 and am happy to consider him a friend as a result. I look forward to continued business with Triple Edge Performance and recommend him for all your transmission needs.:th_thumbsup-wink: Not to mention the other skills he possesses if you have something you need done to your w-body, custom swap, etc.

Thanks again Dave and if all else fails hopefully hang out again at BGPM08.:th_beer-toast2:

Just curious...Im having Dave do my tranny in the coming months. What do you mean by "no PCM mods"?

BTW Jason - It was good meeting you at the Drive the Mile back in May. :)

Basically, the torque converter that Triple Edge Performance is having built is not a mass production unit. Each one is for your specific car/build. Other converters on the market require PCM tuning due to the materials used and lockup. Dave would be the one to discuss it with in full detail throughout your build. He forgets more about our transmissions than I will ever know. I copied this from his post in the vendors section:

After months and months of searching for a reputable company that gives not only one of the best warranties in the industry but also a lockup clutch that was specifically designed for PWM TCC operation, We are proud to announce that we offer high performance stall converters for the 4T60E/4T65E. Since we are working with a major performance converter company every converter, like our transmissions, is built specifically for YOUR application, not the shelf. These converters are rated to 1000+ HP levels and carry a full 2 year warranty! These stall converters are not designed for WOT lockup and will retain stock lockup operation that will not require special pcm tuning. The torque converters will have a base cost of $549.95 plus shipping. These will be a 245mm based converter so a drilled L67 flexplate, L36 flexplate, or Billet flexplate with correct hole pattern will be required. As I have mentioned several times over the years, a good quality converter is not cheap and you can be assured that you will be buying a top quality converter that last a long time, handle big HP, and retain great lockup operation. Build time will be 3-4 days plus shipping time. For any questions or order info please email us a [email protected]. Vehicle, engine, and transmission information IS REQUIRED before any order is processed!!!

It was good to meet you and the others at DTM as well. I still have to get the lap video from Emersonhart though. My GTP is a tiny bit different than when you saw it as far as appearance and performance (in progress one man job...me).

Can't go wrong with Dave for any work he does. He is very knowledgeable, humble, and more helpful than is good for him. I'd never question recommending him for anything from trans. builds to porting to custom swaps, etc.

Dave is the man he has taken time to reply to all my threads and emails straight to him to diagnose my problem in my gtp...basically imo my trans is on its last leg.Now saving for a build...but also to the rest of the members who have answered my questions and "learnt" lol me some things on the GP.I just wanna give a big thanks to all of u.Im glad i picked this forum as my first to be a member of.

so what did that build cost? Sounds like it's exactly what I'm looking for. I can remove and install the trans at my brothers shop so labor for removal and installation is not needed. Although you only live about 8 hours away from me.... not a big trip in my opinion.

For pricing info you can either ask in my Triple Edge Performance thread on the bottom of the forum home page in the Vendor section or send an email to [email protected] .

I'd also like to thank Dave but not for my T.E.P. transmission (which I love). I want to thank him for all the outrageous picture mails I get on my phone. Some of them are pretty fantastic! LMAO! Thanks Dave!

I want to thank Dave aka Trannyman95 for his comments in this post:

Surging idle when cold - HP Tuners Bulletin Board

I have been searching for a fix for my terrible surging problem on my car ever since I put the ZZP LS1 TB kit on it. I read your post about drilling an 1/8in hole in the TB blade...got the drill, drilled it and let the car sit until about an hour ago...36*F out...car use to surge back and forth between 1600 and 400 RPM's and would usually kill itself on a really cold day. Well not only did it not kill itself, but it started fluctuated a couple hundred RPM's twice and leveled off and idled normally....so

THANK YOU VERY MUCH...YOU DON"T KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM RIGHT NOW!

Glad you found the thread and it helped you out! It burns me to no end that HPT has yet to add any useful idle and iac stuff for the V6 guys. The LS1 guys can tune this but upon numorous requests the last few years I have never heard or seen anything other than there are too many V6 files out there and wasnt likely a soon-to-happen upgrade though it is MUCH needed and there are a lot of people that have this problem and dont know how or why.

Im having a tranny shop in my area rebuild my tranny (sorry dave) because its under warranty. Is there a upgrade/shift kit anyone recommends i have put in while the tranny shop has my tranny apart they said theyll install anything i purchase

TransGo Shift Kit...awesomeness:th_winking:

The Transgo kits that I use are not really performance kits and I use them as a base in addition to some other work to firm up shifts. The Intense shift kit is a great kit with a lot of adjustability and will definately help firm up shifts without having to do additional work.

dave!!!!! going on a month now and the trans feels great, i love the shift kit and how i can chirp second gear outta toll booths!! no doubt the best vendor in the 3800 world. thanks so much-Nick Perri
