• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Trannyman, please check your email. I blew up :(

David,

When you have a moment, I just sent you an email. I'm in a bad situation and need your help. I blew up my trans differential housing somehow.

Thanks,
Joe

The part where the sensor screws in broke off, a hole blew out the bottom, and there's a crack between the two. I have no idea how this could have happened. What do you think?

It's a bad pic, but I'm not home and the best I could come up with was a friends cell phone. Anyhow, this is the speed sensor with chunk of metal still attached. It looks as if something was wearing into the side of the differential housing. I can't tell if it did it right before it blew, or if it has been happening for a while. You can see grooves cut into the metal.

I just found your email, sorry I dont use Yahoo anymore as I had way too many problems with messages being undeliverable and returned and some people couldnt send me messages as they were never recieved. The email address for you or anyone to use for future referrence is on the main page of my website and is "[email protected]" . I did send you an reply but please try to send all future emails to the comcast account as that is the best way to contact me. Back to your problem and as I sent in your email, your diff is bad and as a MINIMUM needs replaced as well as the housing and possibly speed sensor. If you look at another thread from SyntheticShield labeled CARNAGE there are some pics of what the diff looks like, though his is an HD model. There is a ring gear inside the transmission and is very suspect to having teeth get damaged when a differential fails and if this is the case it must be replaced or will damage a new differential.
