tranny wont downshift

once out of every ten of so times that i floor the pedal the tranny wont downshift. i have hp tuners and have adjusted the shiftpoints and such but have no concept of much else in tranny tuning. im assuming this is some sort of abuse mode issue or maybe even temp issue and the computer is trying to protect the trans. the tranny is only a year old. how do i stop this and what do i tune?
 


no usually between 30 and 40 miles per hour (although sometimes when im faster too) ill floor it and itll goto power enrichement but wont downshift to first. i want it to downshift everytime i floor it. this is not a tuning issue where my speed or rpm isnt tuned right to downshift. for some reason sometimes it just wont. i can do it 10 times starting at 35 mph and floor it and out of ten times two times it just wont downshift. usually everytime im trying to race grrrrrrrrrrrrr
 
Thats the speed where you shouldn't be downshifting to first....

Theres no point in downshifting when the car will gain 2-3 MPH then shift then gain maybe 10 mph then shift again, its just stupid to do that.
 
not to be greatful for the response matt but even if this still isnt answering the question of why this is happening when its tuned to do so and does almost every other time...also this happens at all other speeds to i just happen to notice it most at 30 to 40 mph
 
the computer in the car ISN"T that fast.

If you've got it setup to downshift at 35 MPH + then you're just asking for trouble.

To answer your question, I dont know. It may be a self protection feature of the tranny.

The car downshifts to the correct gear no matter what you want.
 


i apologize matt5112 i just reread all my posts and saw that i accidently put greatful instead of saying that i wasnt ungreatful. my bad as i appreciate the help although this isnt answering my question...im probebly gonna post in the tuning section as i believe this to be a tuning problem
