Tranny Swap 4T65E-HD to 4t65E

Need a quick fix for my daily driver and I'm thinking of just doing a quick tranny swap. I can find relatively inexpensive non-HD trannys around for my 2000 GTP. I know the difference is in the differential and that CV shafts are different lengths and gear ratio is different. Am I able to switch the HD stuff and gear/chain drive to the non-HD tranny so I don't have to buy new shafts and tune out the gear change?

Yea you shouldn't have a problem swapping that stuff out. Swap the HD Diff and cover, and the chain set. You'll need valve body gaskets and channel plate gaskets but other than that you'd be fine.

I have a "non-hd" that's been converted to an HD in my GTP now and I'm close to running 12's on it. You don't have to be easy on nothin.
