I have a '97 GPGT with a '00 trany and engine in it w/ about 100,000 miles on it and I noticed it's starting to sudder going in to 3rd gear under normal acceleration. If i accelerate fast it acts normal. Whenever it starts to shudder I usually just let off the gas and let it shift back down and restart the acceleration process but if I punch the gas it will shift hard into 3rd. What could cause this?
 


Well, for one the 97 GT's had a vacuum controlled trans. in them, and the 00's didn't.

Aside from that it sounds like torque converter shudder. Try disconnecting BOTH battery cables, touching them together for 30 seconds and leave both cables off overnight. Then just reconnect and drive and see what you get.

What kind of shape is the fluid in? Is it nice and red or getting brown/black?
 
Ok. I'll try that. I just had the fluid replaced last year. And I haven't put hardly any miles on it. Thanks for the help!
