Tranny shifts from 2nd gear to Overdrive?!?!?

Have a 2000 GTP with 108,000 miles. Tranny was acting up and I had a code of a stuck open solenoid, so my father and I replaced all the solenoids. Seemed to fix the problem and the tranny shifted smooth threw every gear. Then all of a sudden it would not engage into 3rd gear, would go from 2nd to OD. Kicks into 2nd at about 17-18mph....then nothing til about 43-45mph where it kicks into OD. Put a bottle of Lucas stop slip in the tranny and thats where we are now. Anyone have a similar problem and get it fixed or have any suggestions on what to try next? Thanks in advance.
 


If you dont have any solenoid codes then you likely either have badly burnt 3rd clutches or a bad 3rd sprag assembly. This will give you 1-2-4 and no 3rd gear. It is not very common to see but I have seen this a handful of times and if this is the case it means rebuild to repair it. Have you tried manually shifting 1-2-3-4? You can also unplug the case connector and when you do this it will leave the transmission taking off in 3rd gear unless you pull it down into 2 or 1 ranges and in those two ranges you will have 2nd gear. If you only have 2nd gear regardless in this state then you have a mechanical problem such as damaged clutches or a bad sprag.
