Seems my original lines have started leaking, my mechanic tells me it's a dealer only item. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the part numbers so i can search online. Or is it a dealer only?

We can't tell you the part numbers because you didn't tell us what you drive. Rockauto typically stocks the lines at great prices though.
 


The dealer ripped us off enough already . Napa Is where it's at. Might be a little more but you can't beet a lifetime warranty followed with quality.

I called my dealer one of many in the area, but I drive right by this one everyday. They had it over $100 for the set. I ordered a set of oem AC Delco online tonight $29.34
shipped to my doorstep. From what I have been reading they are not hard to replace either. They basically snap in. Not like the old lines that always twisted or broke.
 
You are going to love the clips.. There is a specific tool for them, most don't seem to have it..but there is a tool. If you use a pick to remove the clips, just be careful with them.
 
The Ebay tranny lines worked fine , had to modify the one that goes in near the pan. Seems it was a tad too long so I trimmed about 1/8" off the end. Snapped right in. Problem solved.
 
Most parts stores don't sell them. I called my local chevy dealer and they sold them both. It was like 25 for the upper and 26 for the lower. Pretty easy fix since mine were rusted out

Go to harbour freight or whatever that store is and find a dentistry set.

Those pics are well worth the $10 they'll set you back.

On the topic of lines: you guys have it cheap!

Up here they're $100 a pop.

I bought a nice pick set from Harbor Freight. The small one is what you need to pop the clips out. I bought a big quantity pack of clips since mine were no longer usable from RockAuto. The trans cooler line I used was a Dorman on eBay. I have a '98 and upgraded to a '02 GTP Radiator. So, I just hacked it in half and re-used the stock line attached to the tranny.

Damn those clips.

They sell in quantities of 25. I paid under $5 shipped for 25 of them. It seems high for what they are, but it saves a lot of aggravation!
 
This is...there is a tool for the clips. It's similar to a fuel line clip tool. Super easy when you use it and never deal with the clips again. You have to know that a guy with metric polished wrenches, metric 6 point non polished wrenches, stubby metric polished wrenches, metric polished line wrenches and ratcheting, locking polished wrenches would have a few different pick sets...right?

Just thought about this..I have something like 8 sets or wrenches and I've sold a couple sets off in the past. :th_winking: That Fast and the Furious line about if you can't find the right tool in my garage applies.
