Tranny clunks/no lower gears?

Think I might've done something bad. Washed the engine. Probab'y sucked in air. Maybe got PCM wet? So now the Transmission clunks into Drive & Reverse & the SES light is on. I stopped the car & shifted through the gears just to make sure & I didn't feel any shifting until drive & reverse gears. The car will idle forward in those lower gears but gas it and isn't going. It will however get up & go in Drive, although the revs are way off before it finally does shift.

It sounds like you may have a poor connection from water or blown fuse for the trans. I would have the pcm scanned to see why the check engine light is on as that will help point you in the right direction. The easiest thing to do is just check all of the connects for any water being in them and let them dry or clean them, especially the trans connector on top of the bellhousing and other connectors in that area.

You won't feel it shifting except between R and D while sitting still. You'll need to be moving to fully test the other gears.

Scanned the engine. It had a bad TPS & a misfire in cylinder 5. REplaced the sensor & all is well. Thanks = ]
