TPS interchangeable?

The TPS on my '00 GTP just went went bad. There is a guy locally who is parting out a 2006. I know you can't buy a TPS for the 2006 by itself, it comes as a unit with the throttle body. But.....can I pull the TPS off his 2006, install it on my 2000, and have it function correctly?
 


No. 04+ is DBW. there isn't really an individual TPS sensor. Buy one off rock auto. its not that expensive.
 
Damn. Ok, thanks. I need to drive the car tomorrow and with the faulty TPS the trans won't shift so I needed to get one ASAP otherwise I would have gone Rock Auto. God knows that place has gotten more than their fair share of my business in years past.
 
So I replaced the dead TPS with a known-good one. The CEL is gone, but the car still wouldn't shift on my way to work this morning. Oddly enough, on the way HOME from work it was just fine.
