• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Top Swap Wiring

Hey guys, I'm new to the site but I wanted to read up on as much on the top swap as possible before posting my questions. I had a 2000 GTP that ran a 13.14@106. I forgot to put antifreeze back into it this winter so the block cracked:(. I just picked up a GT and want to bolt up my supercharger with mods. I plan to go use ZZP's MANIFOLD ONLY to take advantage of higher compression, which brings me to my quesion...

-What is the deal with the wiring?
-Some state just add "connectors and be done with it" What are these?
-Would I be better off using my 2000 GTP PCM with wiring harness to save my HP tuners Credits?
-How does leaving the bottom nipple of the bypass achieve a "Vaccum" system?

Thanks for your time!

you need the MAP harness adapter only. the BBV can be run on vacuum only by leaving the lower line off the solenoid. this will allow full boost without the stupid PCM interfering. you cannot use your GTP PCM because of the transmission files.

well, I would use the gtp computer if you have credits on it. I would assume that you're using the gtp trans? I would even use the gtp wiring harness so you don't have to mess around buying an adapter for the map sensor.

Hey there i'm new to the site and i'm going to do a top swap. I'm confused about the MAF. Do i have to get a different MAF and harness or can i modify mine some how?

MAFs are the same. Fastkatt and I started with a GTP stock tune combined with the GT trans files as a base, then tuned the **** out of it from there.
