Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Top Swap problems

2000 gt with gtp top swap. Only had the car for 2 days. Top swap with headers and CAI. Previous owner claims it was re-flashed to a stock gtp tune. Upon start up rpm's are sporadic as seen in video. If you step on the throttle it returns to a normal idle otherwise it will die if you allow the rpm's to jump. While driving power seems to be intermittent. Cruises okay but cuts out uphill or under heavier load. A few times it has jumped between 2-3k rpm until it finally dies. I cleaned the MAF sensor. I'm gonna check for vacuum leaks but does anyone have idea what the problem could be? Fuel pump? Injectors?

I posted this to a GP facebook page and someone claims its all in the tune. That i need a 2 bar map sensor and a custom tune? I have hptuners, can someone who has a successful top swap tune send me their tune?

the sensors you need depend on what version of operating system you have on the pcm.. if you have a GT non boosted operating system you need a 1 bar map, if you have a GTP operating system you need a 2 bar.

Anybody want to throw me a bone here and tell me what differences my 00 tune will need if i use guz's top swap 03 tune? Or even what trans values I should have instead of the values in the gtp tune I have now?

I would find someone local who knows how to tune these cars and have them fix it. without knowing more about the car we cant answer the questions you are asking.

If I was there the first thing I would do is open the hood and look if the MAP sensor is the L36 or L67 style. Next I would look for the BBV solenoid and wire. If the solenoid and L67 Map sensor are there then chances are it was setup as a GTP/L67 file (Or should have been) If the BBV solenoid is missing and there is a L36 style MAP then it should be setup as a L36/NA file.

Next step. If running a GTP file the trans settings need to be changed to match the 2000 GT trans settings as the GTP had diff gears and settings. If running a L36/GT/Na file the trans will be correct and you will need to make changes such as spark and fuel settings to that it doesn't go boom with the boost.

Next what i would do is down load your current file and figure out what was used. Load the correct file if it had the wrong one and then data log and check for codes.

The top swap tune that I provided is from an 03. The guy who tuned it used a L36 bin. If you have HP tuners you can compare both files to see what was changed. 03's are also a little different. You could always get a top swap tune from ZZP.
