Took my STOCK gtp to the track today...

If this is in the wrong section feel free to move, won't hurt my feelings.

As some know i took my stock gtp to the track today and ended up with a 14.4@98mph. It's just hptuned by yours truly. As many will argue on CGP it's not stock since it has a tune, i must say that i disagree very much :th_thumb-down::th_thumb-down:. The damn car is stock, period, U-bend, paper filter with 84,000miles on it, leaking intake gaskets, i mean you name it lol.

I really wish the car had better 60's but 98mph traps on a bone stock car was good enough for me so i called it quits before i got the full potential out of it, which could have been maybe 1 mph and a tenth or two more. Once my other gtp is ready it might make it out to the track one more time to see if i can't touch the 13's or break 100mph traps. I might need a "splash" of 100octane to jack up the timing but i only have to make up 1.5mph to break 100 so....

nice man. i cant wait to get my car to the track and see what i can squeeze out of it.

if i can squeak off a 12 without running the e85 im going to be ecstatic.

That is impressive. Where you running 93 octane? What were your 60' times? It sounds like some solid tuning on a good stock foundation cut at least half a second!

Maybe, i don't think the car has the power to knock out 2.0 60's lol. I gotta count on my 2nd half power to get me those 13's. I did go on my 17" huge mustang wheels, i bet i would have had better luck with stock wheels. Meh...

Yeah...aren't those Mustang wheels really heavy though? I bet you'd run better with all of that extra rotating mass gone :D

rediculas man. AWESOME!!!

how much timing?? 0 knock?? what was the mph at the 1/8?? it deff seems like its getting down the back end of the track good.

Wow. So it sounds like with stock wheels and maybe squeaking out a 2.1 60' you could be very low 14's...almost an entire second off of the average stock time! :th_king-evil:

Well that's with a tune remember. I was under the impression a tune wasn't considered a mod but it is so i must stress that you guys know it had a tune or i'll be a liar. I never said it didn't have a tune though so i wasn't trying to hide anything. Besides that she's bone stock. Here's some pics of it, yea, aint very pretty. It sat for quite some time and just looks like **** now lol. You'll never believe it only has 84,000 miles on it i'll tell you that much.

You have a 3k stall and 3.29's. If i had that i could have knocked out 1.9 60's without a problem. With 2.93's and a ****ty stall there's no mechanical advantage so the car just goes instead of takes off like i want. :(

the good thing about starting with a GT. cheap initial buy, good gears, higher stall, and higher compression.

i win. :D

Yeah, I totally forgot about the gearing. I didn't know about the converter though. :th_lipssealed1:

i know... 60's are hard to get down. my best is a 2.1. wish i could run slicks, damn stock transmission would go to s*** though
