alright so i drive an orange 2004 gtp comp g and i love it, BUT today i saw a post on craigslist where a guy is selling his 99 gtp that is metalic blue and heavily modded. i would absolutely love to mod mine, however i dont really have the monetary funds to support such endeavors! so i was wondering if you guys had any input on whether or not i should try to trade him? here is the list of mods and the bads on the 99 gtp:
  • L26 block
  • Modular Pulley System with 2.8" pulley
  • Air Intake
  • TOG Headers, 3" downpipe
  • 160* thermostat
  • Autolite 103 plugs
  • Phenolic Intercooler
  • Bosch intercooler pump
  • ZZP large front mount heat exchanger
  • #60 lbs injectors
  • Previoulsy tuned for E85 by the old owner(Currently tuned for 93)
  • ZZP modified fuel rails
  • Ported Lower Intake Manifold
  • Gen V supercharger
  • Ported heads
  • North Star Throttle body
  • Intense Performance stage 4 blower cam
  • Cam shaft supporting mods
  • Kenwood stereo system.
  • Bose 12 disc changer (Not Hooked up)
  • Staggerd 18 inch black plasti-dipped Pontiac wheels

  • TRANSMISSION:
  • Fully built trans
  • 3.29 gears
  • 300m input shaft
  • Output shaft
  • Chrome Moly Pump Shaft
  • Hardened 4th Clutch Shaft
  • New clutch packs
  • Shift kit
  • 258mm 2800 stall, and more (all new gaskets, seals, bearings, dex 6 fluid)

  • A/C has a slow leak and needs to be recharged
  • One LED ring in the left halo head light is out, but the head lights them selves work just fine.
  • Left front foglight fiberglass housing has a small hole in it on the bottom
  • Paint has some small dings and nicks (Overall paint is a 7 out of 10)

also, the inside is super clean. mine isnt perfect either but its not trashed. i have custom made grille pieces that were silver and i plastidipped, i have a k&n intake, a 180 degree thermostat, a rebuilt transmission about 1000 miles ago, a new hub assembly on the front right wheel about 1000 miles ago, new both back calipers (painted red to match the other two) about 500 miles ago, a new alternator (about 2000 miles ago), and a custom gauge mount with a boost and a volt gauge. the only bad things are there is a rip in the side of the drivers seat (some jackass from an oil change place accidentally ripped it when my uncle still owned it who put the duck tape on it, i really wish he hadnt), a scratch in the paint on the front from hitting a cable at like 5 mph in the dark, and some super minor chips in the paint above the back right wheel (i tried to take a picture but they are so small it didnt show up very well).

Trade a 04 for a 99. No way in hell mods don't add value onto a car unless the buyer is willing to pay more for then.

Plus I would never buy a modded car...could be a ticking time bomb and you never know what's been done to. You only have the sellers word. For all you know it could be a stock cam and stock trans

Can't afford to mod the 04....wait and mod it down the road.

Don't do it, you will MISS your 04+ seats. I have 05 seats in my 98 and will never sit in 98 seats again. Something has to be going out, most people trying to get to that level of modification (me), would be happy and content. I would not look to sell or trade after all that work, unless something was going out.

Don't do it, as both Texas and red said, you don't know what he has really done to it and in my opinion, for such a modded car, under the bonnet looks rather "dirty" if you would

Yup and prepare for it to go BOOM at any giving second then you'll wish you kept your car when you have to shell out big money on repairs. Don't be in a rush to mod it will come when the time is right aka when you have money.

If this deal falls through.. I have a modded Regal I'd trade you straight up for your car.

It's got the L26 instead of L67 mod
Big cone filter
kick butt sound system
Super awesome suspension
Built up trans with 2.93's
Comes with three sets of wheels..cause it's an all year rocketship.

and the biggest thing of all.. LED turn signal mirrors with puddle lights. That should make you wanna trade right there.
