Tired of fixing everything

I bought my Grand Prix about 3 months ago and know I got ripped off but wasn't mad because I love the car. It's now had over a grand put into it or something around there and needs more. My abs and trac off light are on and now I have a steering issue to take care of. I love the car I'm just sick of spending all my money. The idea of selling it has come to mind but this is my second car in less than a year. Sorry just kind of wanted to complain lol

dont give up. i bought a car with a blown motor and more dents than i care to count. But im going to fix it all and it will be a great car to drive maybe this weekend. Just hang in there she will be good to you once all the little things are done.

Problem is that there is always going to be little stuff to fix. You fix one thing and something else pops up. However, if you have a genuine love for the car, it wont matter. :-)

Mechanic buddy of mine summed it up well.

You can pay to fix an older car, or make payments on a newer car. Sometimes..you can do both!

Reality is.. ....what year is it? What are you asking from it?

I bought a 9 year old car (2000 Regal) for $1400. On deck was fresh suspension, wheel bearings, brakes, radio, oil pan (for gasket), engine mounts etc etc. In the three years I've had it, I refreshed the trans and swapped the engine. My total cost in is ~$5K. Most of that because I did a lot of "extras" because I wanted those features.

My costs to date: ~9 cents a mile or $138 per month, not counting gas/oil. That's not too bad when you think about a new car payment.

^ very well said. Consider how much a car payment would cost you guessing on avg $350+ for 4+ years plus insurance (full coverage) and then the possibility of still needing repairs outside of what the warranty covers..yea no thanks ill keep my old car :)

now you talk great credit or bad credit? that does make a differance in how much you pay i look at also the down payments as well and it doesnt make to big of an impact.
