Tire/suspension/sway bar ??

I have a 99 GP GT w/130,000 miles. Recently i have noticed a bad vibration when i hit about 40mph and up, so i jacked the car up and noticed a 6'' area of wires showing through the tire on the passenger on the inside. It also got me to thinking that the wires broke and that's half the problem. I was reading somewhere on the forum to take it to a shop and get a free suspension check so i did, They called me over a showed me that the sway bar ends were in bad shape (not the end links). My question is would a faulty sway bar cause the car to vibrate that bad, I noticed when on the freeway if there was a slight turn to the left or right it would stop vibrating. Any input would be great, I'm also looking to do some suspension upgrades.

Swaybar didnt cause that, a bad alignment did. The swaybars are knows to rust through on the ends though and should be replaced.

You had the banding showing on the tires? That was deffinately the cause as well as an anlignment/tires out of balance. An anlignment and new tires will be good. If you get new swaybars just go ahead and get the GMPP swaybars.
