Timing cover relearn

When replacing the timing cover gasket, someone on here said there's a 50/50 chance you actually need to perform the relearn procedure. Could I replace the gasket and drive somewhere to have a mechanic do the relearn? How much would that cost? Probably less than even the cheapest scan tool that has the capability of doing that I'm assuming..
 


id not worry about, just make sure the crank sensor is tq'ed right when the cover is re installed.

if you need one the cel will come on. and it will still drive.
 
Yeah I'm with scott. I wouldn't worry about it. I've had my timing cover off about 3 times with no need for a case relearn or anything like that.
