• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Time for more upgrades!

Hey guys just wanted to get some thoughts from people here that have put a gtp on E85 and what kind of success they had. Im considering it strongly this winter to do the conversion as my gtp wont be my daily driver anymore and i can have more time to do things to it. My currents mods are as follows.
* gen 3,SSIC with ported lower manny,Headers with a ZZP catback,Cold air, tuned pcm, other goodies that dont help kr too much.
The only other thing i do plan to add is my Yella Terra 1.8s with new blue 90# springs. Right now im on a 3.2 pulley with 16* of timing at wot and that is the best i can do on 91 right now. Just getting some ideas as to what i could do to go a bit faster and E85 seemed like the best deal to me because of the few gas stations i live close to sell it. If anyone has some input to maybe go a different direction like a cam possibly i would like to hear it. Im wondering how small of a pulley and timing i could do from switching over to e85 and adding the rockers i have. Thanks guys! Especially Scotty who has gave me some great advice in the past. :th_winking:

its worth is. even with the ic on there. guy in NC has about the same mods, he said the cars a whole new animal on e85. hes a gen 5 blower n* 1.95 rockers. hes up to 18º timing fsic and a 3.0 iirc. or one up or down from there.

you will want to have a tuner on hand for the swap. canned tunes dont always fair well. not sure if many places will even do a canned e85 tune either. you need like 60 lb injectors too. you can set them up for gas, and e85 and either have two pcm's or flash the tune back and forth as needed should you have to run gas again.

I defiently was going to do 60s for the injector but can a stock fuel pump handle it ok? My Gtp is a 2002 if that matters. I'm hoping to get mabye a 3.0 pulley with 18* mabye even a 2.9 since the air is so thin up here in Denver. My biggest problem is finding a decent tuner here.

you should know by now to not get a z tune then lol zack the hack as i call him. stay away from him.

we do have some denver members here or on the regal board who have tuners, if they have the time to tune you is another story tho. or are even willing to.

a dhp is only 250, well worth owning your own tuner in the end.

I'm not going to do a zzp tune again. Already had issues with one. If I can find a dhp for that much I'll probably do it. Would be great to learn to how to tune too. My goal next year is to be in the high 13s up here.

E85 is worth it. Been on and off it for the last almost 2 years (mostly on) and the car loves it. Really kills the knock and wakes the car up. Just listen to Scott and either get a tuner or get someone good to set you up with a good tune and you'll be ok. It took a bit for me to get it dialed in right but once I did, it was a night and day difference from 93.

I saw blue mention that he was running a 3.2 on his gen v w just a 3 inch dp, for exhaust work.

I'm going to jump over to e85 next week and see what happens. Just buying injectors

Ask me in two weeks! :) I have my dyno tune scheduled to swap over.

04 top swap. Gen 5. VS cam. headers. 195 stat. CAI. 3.5. Soon to be 60 injectors, AEM pump, fuel pump rewire, and E85.
