What is your deductable?

I thought mine was $50. My tach broke and the hi beam switch was sticking so I took it in to the dealership for repair/replacement. The service manager called to let me know the car was finished and I have a $200 de-freakin-ductable.:th_shakinghead2::th_wtf:

Now I'm not as excited about picking my car up.:(

Well crap. I do have a $200 deductible. At least I have a new gauge cluster and turn signal/hi beam controller.

Mine is $0. I had my valve cover gaskets and ISS serviced a few months ago and the total game out to $13 for shop supplies.

I bought the car with 17k miles on it about 6 months ago. I purchased the Major Guard Extended warranty. It covers my vehicle for + 2 years or 52,000miles, whichever comes first. And thats 52,000miles on top of what the car had when i got it.

I wonder if GM recently raising the factory warranty had anything to do with your better deal. I bought my car in 05 with 9K miles. My warranty goes to 84K miles and/or year 2010.

My truck is an '04. Bought it in '06 with 4k mi. Had remainder (still does) of warranty. Bought extended warranty also. It now has 20k mi. I Think, that the factory warranty is up around July, August, going off the 4 yr part.
We bought it on a Saturday. The very next day, all the gauges quit. We got it in Okla City. Our Enid dealer kept our truck for 2 days before they called and told us they aren't allowed to work on Regency's. Anyways, we bought it in 4-06 and got a recall letter on the gauges about 4 months ago. I think the people who fixed it even suckered my husband into paying for something. Because they had to Send the whole cluster to Texas to Regency. Hell, I coulda done that.

Mine's $100. I've milked that damn warranty so much in the first year lol. It's paid for itself...let's just say that.

I don't have the GM warranty but when i bought my 30th 99 Trans am used I bought the warranty at the bank. I no doubt , hands down used up that warranty and more. The cost for the rear main seal, pinion seal, and a/c compressor all in one shot.

now, im a usually-broke-n00b, how does the whole warranty thing work? It covers mechanical problems that arise but not if they are problems related to "racing" or "performance driving," right? So hauling @ss on a daily basis and eventually causing damage to the car while it's still under warranty would not be covered? Or just don't let the dealership find out? I mean, these "warranty" repairs aren't cheap for the dealership by any means, so im guessing they would check the car/problem over pretty thoroughly before agreeing to pay for it...?

I don't beat on my car so Ive never had any issues. But i would imagine that if you don't keep the maintenance up on the vehicle and Io shows signs of hard wear then they "could" cause you some problems.

Damages that are obvious signs of abuse would not be covered. Like an exploded differential from a burnout. They don't just explode on their own, and the rubber on your fender linings would make it more than obvious. Just gotta think like that.
