Think my blend door is messed up/sticking. Looking for a how to on replacement.

Hi, I recently noticed that my car was blowing cold air with the temp turned to hot air. It is an '04 GTP Comp G with manual controls, non dual climate. The direction changes just fine between the vents, this was specifically a cold hot issue. I found the actuator and verified that it was not moving like it should when I turned the knob back and forth, like it was stuck. It would try to move a little bit each way and then just give up. So I removed the actuator and left it plugged in and was able to see it turn just fine in both directions when not engaging the door knob. The knob itself was too tight to turn by hand, this may be normal, I don't know. So I took a 10mm open end wrench and was able to move it back and forth to full stops in either direction but it felt very tight. I sprayed some lubricant where the knob comes out and worked it back and forth and it seemed to loosen up a little more. Then I put the actuator back on and got the same results. I thought maybe the motor was old and weak so I went ahead and bought a replacement and it did the exact same thing as the old actuator did. So now I'm at a loss. The door does move with a wrench so I left it in the hot position and took the car for a drive and it does in fact have hot air now. So what goes bad on these doors that could make it too hard to turn for the motor to overcome? If the door itself needs repaired or replaced, how do you get to it? I looked all over this site and could not find any instructions or threads about getting to the door itself, only threads about the actuator.
 


thats odd I assume those motors are a lot of torque since I can hear mine and it moves very slow and has a lot of gears in the actuator. with everything turned off that makes noise (radio, air) can you hear the motor going when you try to change from hot to cold. I think when I changed mine there was a certain way to install it so that it "learned" the door look up on youtube a guy makes an in depth video on them he makes a ton of interior grand prix videos think his names gpvlogs in there. if the door is tough to move but is like a smooth tough to move all the way through it shouldn't be the problem
