The Grandma Wagon Strikes Again.

So, Since my car has been dead for awhile, I've been driving my dads wagon around... It's a 1996 Chevy Caprice Classic wagon, with an LT1, and a 9" cone filter on it....Weighs in at 4600lbs...

So I was at Wal-mart, about 2 weeks ago, and there were a few ricers grouped up in the parking lot, that I had to walk by to get to my car. As I was walking past, one of them said "I'll race anyone here, and beat them."

So I asked which car was his, and he pointed to his little Honda Civic. I told him I'd race him, but he wanted to race for money. All I had was $20s so I bet him $20 that I'd beat him.
Then he wanted to know what car I drove, so I pointed over to the Grandma Wagon.

He laughed, and I quote "If I win, just give me the $20, but if you win, I'll give you $50"...Followed by more laughing from everyone.

We pulled out onto Hwy 17, going north. (It's totally deserted once you're past Wal-mart for a few miles) We got up to the traffic light, and waited.

It turned green, and we both took off. He got about a car length ahead of me immediately, before I really started moving.
At about 25 he still had a car on me, or so.
At 40 I was starting to close the gap...
At 55-60ish I was about dead even with him, but pushing past.
At about 75, I had about a car length on him, maybe a little more.

I shut down at 80ish, with about 1.5-2 car lengths on him. Then he gave me the flyby...

We went back to the parking lot, where we agreed we'd go, and pay up.
I hopped out of my car, waiting for my money... He and the car that followed us (guess to watch and see who won) pulled up.
And the guy driving the Civic started talking ****... "Oh my car lost boost in 2nd, then I missed 3rd gear"

So it has to be turbo'd right??? Well it was...one of those Ebay Electric turbos....
He wouldnt pay the $50 he said he would...but I did get $20 out of him....made my night..

Found his car the next day in a parking lot, so I had to snap some pictures...it's a real work of art..Even body gap is different.

Oh, and the whole missing a shift, I looked in the car...and its an automatic...

lmfao good **** bro........money races are the best even if its for $20 makes it worth your time and gas.........that car is a ****ing joke......tell him you car will make it a closer race and do it for 100 :) good job

Lol, yep, me too!

I'll get some pics of the Grandma Wagon up when I get back down to FL.
Tan, with tan interior, and some more tan...Runs ****ing great though.

Awesome, I hate little fagggets in shiiitboxes, regardless of make/model. Electric turbo... tell that cuunt to slit his wrists :)

Wow...you sir are an angry man....lol

Yeah I hate ricers...tuners are awesome...Making mad power out of 4 bangers is cool...
Now putting a fart pipe on and some stickers.....thats RACE!

The town I'm in currently, Albemarle, NC...its the ****ing spawning ground of ricers...seriously.

About 1/4 of the cars here have fart pipes...even Jeeps, trucks, and I've seen a few luxury cars with them. Wings meant for Boeing 747's on the back...

God I loved having my car up here and messing with them.

LOL, I guess I am a little too angry but I am just tired of all this ricer shiiit, can't leave my house in anything but my gf's suburban without being hassled, guess I'll just start hitting them :)

ROFL. Yeah...I'm driving around a 1996 GMC Suburban, with the 5.7L...Slow as hell, big heavy thing, and I still can beat up of some of the ricers around here.

Tho I should just hit them...

Hahaha...I feel ya man. Not even mini-vans are safe here. Nothin like an astrovan with spinning hubcaps, dual fart cannons and bubble tint.

The weight transfer and placement on a station wagon is actually better than on a sedan. All that glass does tend to make it weigh a bit more, but wheel stands are much easier. There are several malibu wagons around that are running 350s with SCs on them in the area. Frame torque twist is fun to watch on them when they launch.

Good kill.

You should see the cars up here in Flint.... for being such a high crime city no one has problem putting 22s on their vans that you can see straight though due to the rust... I mean come on WTF

My buddy has one of those... slower than Christmas, but its only got the original 305 for power... soon to be a 383 stroker (lots of miles and shes starting to smoke, so hes looking for a good 350 to build)

Originally owned by a lil ole lady, bought by a guy in his 40s and turned into a "Impala SS clone" we went to Kansas City to pick it up, long frigging drive but for 4500 you cant really complain :th_laugh-lol2:

Just had to share pics for reference, these cars are long, heavy and for the most part slow.... I feel for the ricer, so sad, so pitiful :th_shakinghead2:
