I got into an arguement with one of Texas' Finest State Troopers that know everything about the law over my windows on my miata... told him I BOUGHT it in TX with the tint i had on it *lied*, they had a new RX-8 with the same tint (5% all the way around, for an extra 800, so i pulled it for my fight) and he told me that it didnt matter that it was MY responsibility to make sure it was legal for TX. So i asked him why i had to make it legal for tx if i have it registered in OK, and live in OK, but drive to TX for the movies... and he said it doesnt matter where you live, its what state your in that matters. So OK's lack of laws for emissions dont matter in TX, you can be towed for no cats, no front plate, too much tint, an intake or anything else thats not factory... by state law
I told him that Ill keep my windows down around him but that he could kindly NOT harrass me about my car or id get my lawyer involved. Out of state laws should NOT matter, but most cops think they do. Oklahoma doesnt care, if your out of state it better be to spec for where your from.
