• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

The 13 Day LS Fest Build Thread!

FurchesPerformance

Approved Vendor
Unfortunately...I am not putting the GXP together for Holley's LS Fest. A few weeks ago we tossed around all of our viable options to be able to assemble, test and tune a complete package before the event..and for several reasons we elected to swap my 05 Monte Carlo SS. Obviously, this is still a w-body and I figured this would be a good place to dump a collection of our thrashing to make this event in the next two weeks! So wish us luck and check back often! I am sure we will need some help!

The Chassis...
2005 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged
Medium Gray Metallic with Ebony Interior
23k Miles

The Combination...
Obviously since the object of this project is to essentially build a rolling business card to showcase some of our LS4 based performance parts...the L67 has to go! The Monte is getting a freshened up 24x LS4 motor with an rebuilt 4T80e from a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. Being that we are running a little short on time, the combination will be on a stock Aurora converter for now. In typical Furches fashion, we thoroughly plan on boosting this pig to the moon while we are in there. Here is a sneak peak at a few of the parts!

Running an FP custom 4.5" core intercooler, BW S475 cast wheel turbo, FP stainless hotside, aluminum fender exit exhaust, etc etc.
We are going to be crunching like mad to get this done. Any help, suggestions, input, parts and etc are all going to be welcome and sincerely appreciated. We are going to try and do our best to document the build/ swap so at the end we can attempt to assemble some kinda tutorials & how-to's for the community.

Tomorrow we will be ripping all day. Check back for some updates.

We spent a lot of time today laying things out and planning the end result, but we made some really solid progress as well.

Intercooler is all done. Vibrant 4.5"x12"x22" core with 3" Vanjen clamps in/ out. It fits awesome and looks killer.

Also fabricated a mount for the S475. Mounting it drivers side and the exhaust is going to dump out the front bumper.

Engine and trans being robbed from the GXP build or do you have a mountain of LS4 engines and 4t80 transmissions stashed out back?

There's a part or two stashed I'm sure.

Brandon, text me with when you'll be working and I'll try to buzz over to give a helping hand.

when this is finished Go get a cobalt and make me a read turbo header to bring the turbo to the top of the motor so we can fit a big boy snail in there with a sexy big downpipe :)

This car is using the engine from the purple GXP. Due to time constraints and overall cost of the project...it was actually cheaper and more effective to swap the Monte than finish the GXP at the moment.

I might have to take you up on that! Only 10 days left!

in for more info on that blue 47-53 instead.

You guys got any plans for a RWD w- body?

Eventually!

Crossmember for the intercooler is finished. Cut out a bunch of tin up front and made some room. Mounted the turbo in it's new home. Tacked together one half of the cold side tubing.....and made a list long enough to make me cry LOL

Still in hammer-down mode. I have been cranking on this thing the last two days and haven't taken very many photos...but here is a quick dump of what I have...
