terrible gas mileage?

Blue GTP

i am getting probably 15 for mixed and other then a few punches a week i drive relatively preservative. what should i start to check it. it starts fine and has random misfires at idle and low acceleration up a hill.all the plugs are new(5k miles) along with new ac delco wires at the same time also cleaned all the terminals on the battery packs and put a nice amount of di-electric grease on everything.

What year of car?

Tire's properly inflated?

Random missfires could indicated a bad plug, wire, or coilpack.

it is a 00 gtp i put autolite 606s and tires are set at 30 with nitrogen
also how do you go about cleaning the maf, my k&n is clean, and no i recently checked my codes cause ses came on and only reason was my ****ty rear 02 sensor didnt go off for almost a month after the catless dp install but only code was the rear o2 sensor going off.

Add ICM to this list as well as bad gaskets.

Factory tire reccomendation is 35, I run mine a little higher.

You clean the maf by spraying MAF cleaner on the sensor. Don't use anything but MAF cleaner.

You said you have a catless downpipe, any other mods?

Its a possibility that the catless downpipe is your issue since you don't have a pcm.

I forget the details on how that system worked before 01 though. I know 01+ Needed an O2 simulator or tune.

sLpGPGT My 05 N/A 100% stock gets 30 MPGs, you're doing something wrong.

ppl keep telling me cause its my heavy foot, but i highly doubt thats the only reason, unless i needa reset and the 15.2 read is wrong, but idk ill figure it out eventually

I guess this hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. Don't rely on your DIC for accuate mileage estimates.

Do the math manually for the best results. Gallons / Miles = MPGs takes about 10 seconds to do before leaving the pump.

ill do that first before i do anything, and yea it doesnt feel/look like i get 15.2 mpgs but thats what it tells me and everytime im like i doubt thats right

HMMM...After cross multiplying, Gallons squared = Miles squared.
Think you better check your math. LOL

Fixed :th_winking:

did you replace your fuel filter? are you using 93 octane? your rear having a code up could effect your mileage, as said before, try to find someone local who knows how to tune and have them give you a custom one. that will help alot.

its miles divied by gallons bro but hes right the DIC is never right usually ofe by 2-3 miles per gallon

once i get my 3.4 i will be getting a tune also i have been told that for 00 the rear o2 sensor doesnt effect the pcms fueling only the front sensor also i have nothing in my trunk i am running 91 octane(Highest we have in nd) and i had this ****ty mpgs before the dp too and i do go by my dic but i still can only get about a week out of a tank between school and work which is MAYBE 35 miles a day if that
