temp gauge question

sorry if this has been covered, but after searching i only found actual overheating problems, not gauge problems. I have a 2004 gtp. the temp gauge is isnt registering. i have a scangauge hooked into my obd2 port and its reading normal temps. also upon starting the car, all gauges do a sweep, temp gauge included. So this brings me to belive its not mechanical, as the actual needle is able to sweep, and the computer is reading actual temp according to my scan gauge. Any thoughts as to why the mechanical gauge isnt registering? thanks for any help!

the temp sensor has two leads. its common for one to fry and the other be okay. change the coolant temp sensor and i bet it solves your problem.
