• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New to the forum but not to Grand Prix. Owned and '83 back in the day. Was glad to see that rust bucket go. Picked up an '06 Base a week ago for my daughter but need to fix er up first. Some minor issues since it's already got 146k on it. Wish the link for the CEL codes would work!

No he didnt.

P2430 is a secondary air injection problem.

P2430 Secondary Air Injection System Pressure Sensor Stuck In Range - With Automatic Transmission
Possible CausesSetting Conditions

  • AIR pressure sensor connector is damaged (check pins for damage, moisture)
  • AIR pressure sensor signal circuit is open
  • AIR pressure sensor signal circuit is shorted to ground or shorted to voltage
  • AIR pressure sensor reference circuit is open
  • AIR pressure sensor low reference circuit is open
  • AIR control/shut-off valve assembly has failed
  • ECM has failed

So, where is this elusive Secondary Air Injection System Air Flow/Pressure Sensor Circuit? My manual hasn't arrived yet.

If I remember right it's in the front bumper cover in front of the left wheel usually water fill up in the pump and causes a short and blows the fuse. The the fuse if its blown that's most likely your problem. Take the left side splash shield off and pull the lower hose off the pump usually water will come running out. In the cold they will freeze and bust also

Well strike one. My Grand Prix is nothing like the car in this video. The fuse for the air pump is 50 amp, (and not blown) AND I just popped out both headlights and no pump tucked into the fender where the video shows. :th_thumb-down: Any other suggestions guys?

Edit-It's hard to see it, but it appears that I have an actual pump, driven by the serpentine belt. Is that possible?
My Haynes manual is worthless.

Edit- FOUND IT. It's in the engine compartment right under the air filter box about a mile and a half down. Hard as hell to get to. Yes, it's electric, full of water, and corroded. Takes a suction of air right out of the air intake, so yes, dumb-a$$ GM Engineers.... it will suck in water too! There's another $100 to stick in the black hole. Any opinions on which brand to buy or avoid?
