hmm i dont know what you mean wire it for 4 ohms...is it a Dual voice coil?....2 subs?? heres a link to sub wiring on crutchfield...just choos what you have SVC means single voice coil(only one positive and one negative on the sub) DVC (2 reds and 2 blacks)
yea thats beyond my knowledge...i do know this, a DVC sub tends give a 2 ohm load because of how they are designed...its like having 2 subs..so with that said i belive that you need a different amp...i dont like 2 channel amps for subs anyway because they arent as efficient...sub amps are class D and they almost always are 2 ohm stable
the only thing i can say is if you dont wish to buy a new amp or subwoofer is look up the specs of your sub..my guess though is it gives a 2 ohm load, with that said the only thing you could do is change the crossovers on each voice coil to 8 ohm crossovers..they are more than likely 4 ohm crossovers...with 8 ohm crossovers it will give a 4 ohm load to the amp and you wont risk blowing it up...but, you could hook it up as is and just not turn up the bass all the way and you should get good life out of it
You need to know what the rating is of each coil. You have two options...parallel or series. Parallel, i.e. 4ohms/2 = 2ohm resistence. Series, i.e. 4ohms*2 = 8ohm resistence.
Typically the DVC speakers are two 2ohm coils. You can achieve 1ohm or 4ohm resistence.
ok 1222d is a dual 2 ohm coil , that amp should work if you are just doing one , what you want to do is take one jumper wire from 1 red to 1 black , that should leave you one red and one black open and take that to the bridged output of your amp and it should work good , if you are running 2 subs you dont want a 2 channel amp you want a mono amp , lemme know how it does
