• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Stuttering when accelerating

1998 3.8 Grand Prix 185K on it. Tuneup last yr. including fuel filter. Not showing any codes. I cleaned the EGR valve and the plunger works.(it was carboned up). With the engine cold it runs like new, soon as the temp gauge goes up it will stutter if I press hard on the accelerator. Mileage seems to be normal. Throttle body is clean. One of the coil packs had corrosion on the towers so I changed that. It runs fine if I don't get on it. Alittle rough idling. Any ideas friends?

Sorry my phone sent that before being done. Does it do it all the time or when shifting maybe after it shifts? How old are the plugs and wires? Do you have any other issues?

have you tried anything yet or are you just waiting for more suggestions that are probably wrong? one of the first few suggestions is probably it.

I'll have the time Thursday and Friday.
Got a place to start now,
Thanks, you guys are very helpful

I was thinking it couldn't be plugs or wires with only 30k on them. Auto zone scan said vacuum leak. 185k on original hoses and tubes...maybe so. Finally borrowed Oreillys scanner and it said #1 cylinder misfire. Damn, I changed the plug and it's fixed. Thanks for your insight.
