stupid question about torque

so lets just say if i preferred torque over hp, what would i need to do instead? while still making respectable whp

instead of headers, plog/pems, dp, vs cam?
:th_laugh-lol3:

they go hand in hand with one another. youll always make more torque than horsepower just because of how this motor runs, especially if you stick with the m90.

Where do you like your torque? Low end? High end?
A low lift cam will have more torque in the bottom end, but fall on it's face in the upper RPMs. A higher lift cam will be boring in lower RPMs, but scream up top.
A supercharger will usually deliver more torque on the bottom end, but a small turbo will as well. A bigger turbo, such as a GT35R will deliver a big punch up top.

Well, you cannot have HP without TORQUE, HP is a calculated number by a certain amount of TQ at a given RPM. HP=TQxRPM (5252). SO as you can see as TQ rises, so does HP. Build for TQ in the RPM range you want the engine to operate in, HP will follow. I really wish the indistry would just give TQ@ RPM numbers.
Low and mid range torque make a car fun to drive on the streets, high rpm torque makes a car fast on the top end and at the racetrack. Smaller intake and exhaust make more low and mid range tq, making them larger moves the power up in the RPM band, thats why factory cams and exhaust are small.
