Stud removal

TheOtherNick

The mod from over yonder
This is an easy way to remove studs that are threaded in to your supercharger etc. With out torx sockets or a stud remover. Sorry for no pics my computer is being stupid. I will get them up as soon as i can.

Whats needed:
2 nuts for the stud
2 wrenches or a wrench and ratchet wrench with socket for the nuts

How:
1. Thread both nuts on to the stud. (Make sure they are both fully threaded on)
2. Place one wrench on the inner nut to hold it there and use the other wrench to tighten the outer nut to the inner.
3. Try to loosen the inner nut and it should take the whole stud with it.
4. To put the stud back in just try to tighten the outer nut.
5.To remove nuts hold the inner nut with a wrench and loosen the outer. When the tension is off they should thread off easily.

I don't know how many people knew of this. I would have never thought of it until I was shown how to. It is very helpful.

there are studs on the supercharger?

EDIT: oh! the throttle body side...

good tip, but if youre working on a car that much you really should just buy the right bits.

A mini pipe wrench on the studs pad area (closest to the S/C) will remove it easily. There usually not in there that tight, at least the ones I messed with.

If its that tight, use to nuts on each stud, snug them together and use the nut closest to the case to pull out the stud (counter clockwise obviously)...
