Strut Options

Ok so my struts need replacing heres the 3 that i know of

KYB AGX i need the front sway bar, end links, and control arms for it to work on my car and the price comes to 1200 minimum without customs :(

The GR-2 probably isnt the best bet for my lowered car and i dont want another crappy ride after putting money into struts

The other option is Bilstein from the GXP, but where do i get them and are they really worth the money? or is the AGX setup better to go with?

any other struts i can use? I know the CompG struts but i cant find them anywhere and dont want to have to be replacing them shortly again.
Thanks for any input

you can buy Bilsteins new for like $250 each I think. I have the part numbers somewhere.
Since you need new control arms etc for the AGXs. I would get them since after its all said and done it will be around the same price as the Bilstein.

but other than that. AGXs all the way. GR2 are just good for stock replacement non lowered cars.

so is the agx a better setup then the bilstein after i have it all done. I just figure doing that setup and then spending 600 on a set rather then 1000+ for bilsteins again if i ever needed to replace them.

Truthfully, I really dont know. Bilsteins are a very good, you can see that by all the cars sporty cars they come on.

But I dont know anyone who has run the bilstein except for GXPs and then gone to AGX.
I really think you will be happy with either one. and your right if you plan on keeping your car a while and racking up the miles. Then it is going to be cheaper the 2nd time around.

and you can get the AGX for around $400 shipped on Magnaflow Performance | Discount Performance Auto Parts | Performance Exhaust Systems | Flowmaster Performance Mufflers.
Also being adjustable is anice feature too.

Got the AGX's installed on my car, be aware there are only (4) adjustable setting on these. After a couple of months of being on the car you will not be able to tell a difference with these (4) settings, no matter what setting you set it at, they all feel the same. Little after year of being on the car, the shocks have settled in to their softest setting even though it is set to the stiffest. They now feel like they are a little stiffer then stock OEM's and I would of much preferred a stiffer all around shock. I would not have purchased the KYB's if I knew they were going to settle in like this, very disappointed. Not sure what I would go to next, but the KYB AGX's are just too soft now. Not sure if that helps, but good luck!

Intersting, but I doubt I have will have that problem with lowering springs
you lowerd?

Thanks for the input guys, this is all good to know. GR2 wouldnt even be that bad because i only drive the car in the summer and for 300 bucks i could just replace them every summer lol. But i just dont want the ride to be like it is now. Im on B&G springs and with the stock struts it isnt terrible but i dont like it

Found out that the strut assembly in 97-03 was the same and then 04-05 they changed it, but from 06-08 they went back to the original. So i guess i can just pick up the AGX for the 500 bucks!
