Strut Mounts and Bellows replaced.

Well I finally got around to taking care of a problem I have with my bellows on my front struts. They somehow got all twisted up into the bumper stop. And tore them to shreds on both sides. And the strut mounts I got with the original setup for my AGX's just didnt seem quite right. So I got the Monroe Strutmate kit from Advanced Auto to replace them and a new set of KYB bellows complete with bumper stops to replace them.

Here is a photo of the bumper stop CUT to give the strut a bit more room to operate.

The old strut plate was a piece of junk! When hit the ground, the whole bearing assembly broke open! What a piece of junk!

Next you can see just how bad the strut bellows were torn up. The bumper stops looked like chew toys.

A comparision between the new strut mount and bellow and the old. A BIG DIFFERENCE I would say :)

And now for both sides complete. I say they came out nicely.

Now I just need to get an alignment again to make sure things shake out okay.

Man you fubar'd those things up. I have to agree they came out nicely.

Yeah I know I did a number on them no doubt!

BUT OMG!

Cutting of that piece of the bumper stop, made my car feel perfect!!!! There no more bone jarring hits like their use to before I made the change, but I recommend to ANYONE with a lowered car to cut their bumper stops! Every car is a bit different, but I think cutting off my bumper stop where I did for my SSC Gen II's and the AGX's was PERFECT! People with more a drop will want to cut perhaps a bit more off to allow for the strut piston to have room to do its job.

I am proof positive this works! And again big thanks to Kent and others who posted up the links to cutting the bumper stops!
