Strut Bolts Stuck on Rear Knuckle

I got a pair of Monroe quick struts to replace the original struts in my 02 GP GT (115,xxx miles). I'm trying to get the old ones off. I'm having trouble removing the two bolts that hold the strut to the rear knuckle. The nuts came off OK but I cannot get the bolts out. There are two flats on the head of the bolt so I assume that it threads through the knuckle. But, it's not a hex-head. I tried to unscrew them with a large adjustable wrench but neither one would budge. I put quite a bit of torque on them but no joy. There is a little corrosion on the knuckle and strut but not too much. Any suggestions on how to get these bolts out? :th_scratchhead: Thanks.

they are press fit splined, you will have to beat them out with a hammer. you might mess up the very end, but a grinder will fix that.

Thanks, that was the trick I needed. A couple of whacks with a hammer and they popped out. Got the right side replaced tonight. Will do the left side in the morning. Thanks again.
