strange dissconected wire

will anyone out there with a gt look at thier font o2 sensor. when the o2 wire travels up to the engine cover's rear mount it has a wire spilting off from it with a small plug on it. mine is just hanging there what is it where dose it plug in to
 


I know the wire you speak of. It's for California/Massachusetts emissions controls that are not installed on your car.
 
yea thats what i wondered too. wouldnt it be a lot easier for the factory to assemble every 3.8 grand prix with same wiring harnesses?

That makes sense i guess it would be cheaper to use just one type of wireing harness for gm

now I got to find a different reason for security light blinking nonstop
 
I believe blinking security light is a problem with your ignition switch, my Gp does the same thing and thats what ive been told is the cause of it
